THE LEADING EDGE Forum IV was a very successful event at the SEG Seventy-third Annual Meeting in Dallas, 27 October 2003. Approxi-mately 1100 people attended the morning session in the Bruton Theater of the Dallas Convention Center to hear excellent presentations by oil industry CEOs and distinguished consultants concerning the "The Future of the Oil and Gas Upstream Industry."

The Forum IV goal was to emphasize exploration and production business issues in conjunction with geophysical technology. Most of the speakers talked about past and present activities in their respective companies with some references to the future. Learning from past successes and failures is extremely important in planning for the future.
