SEG's 2004 Member Compensation Survey

The average salary for an SEG member based in the United States is US $108 119, according to the 2004 Membership Compensation Survey conducted by Anderson Marketing Services (AMSI) earlier this year. The corresponding figure for Canada is US $78 742. This article summarizes some results and includes some figures from the 64-page report that AMSI submitted to SEG in June. The complete report is available exclusively to SEG corporate members.

This is the fourth salary survey that AMSI has conducted for SEG since 1998. Articles summarizing the previous surveys appeared in TLE in September 1998, November 1999, and October 2002. This survey covers only the U.S. and Canada. A survey covering the rest of the world will be conducted in 2005.
