This is the first in a periodic series of articles presented to SEG members by the International Association of Geophysical Contractors that will introduce several issues and ideas of interest and concern to members of both groups. The International Association of Geophysical Contractors (IAGC) is a global association of 206 geophysical contractors, data suppliers, geophysical equipment manufacturers, and consultants. These companies provide the majority of all geophysical services, information, and equipment used in the worldwide exploration for oil and gas reserves.
