This paper illustrates an automatic seismic interference noise attenuation algorithm and suggests studies to determine the propagation mechanism of seismic interference noise to help devise better algorithms. It also introduces another algorithm that relies on the assumption of a simple propagation mechanism to detect interfering source locations to attenuate such noise.
