Almost every day, consumers are reminded that the price of oil will top US $100 per barrel and to expect significant, continuous increases in the cost of living. The growing economies of China and India have absorbed nearly all the spare oil production capacity. Mix that with ongoing global geopolitical tensions and you have a recipe for increased volatility in the price of oil.
