The Bombay Offshore Basin on India's western continental margin is bounded by the Saurashtra homocline on the north, Vengurla Arch on the south, the subcontinent's west coast on the east, and the West Margin Basement Arch on the west. Oil and gas accumulations have been established in Panna, Bassein, Mukta/Heera, and Bombay formations.
