Since the early 1970s, the oil and gas industry has benefited from remote sensing technologiesopening up new opportunities for discovering oil well locations, monitoring vegetation patterns, and more accurately measuring land masses. However, over the course of 35 years, satellite technology has evolved dramatically, and today it offers the oil and gas industry sophisticated tools for monitoring facilities, locating minerals, and planning infrastructure.
